It was all smiles at Bandawe School for the Hearing Impairment in Nkhatabay, and Salima School for the Blind in Salima as United Civil Servants donated Assorted food items.
In light of UCSSACCO’s pursuit to change lives, representatives of UCSSACCO had set out to Nkhatabay and Salima on the 21st of January 2024 to donate food items such as maize, soya, beans, salt, sugar, rice and cooking oil to Bandawe School for the hearing impairment, and Salima School for the Blind.
The schools were opted for as recipients of the donation as they lack the necessities for the continued well-being of a student. This situation is the case despite the school being of students which are physically challenged. Necessities such as food, among many, are never enough for students learning at this school. Students at these schools do fail to attend classes due to hunger.
The donation by United Civil Servants is expected to help students at these schools in a meaningful way. Though not enough in light the many challenges which these students face, the assorted food items donated will, for the meantime, alleviate problem of insufficient food at this school.
This donation is not a one-time occurrence but is an on-going program which happens in quotas. After every three months, UCSSACCO donates food items to Bandawe School for the hearing impairment, and Salima School for the Blind.
