
On 19th October 2024, United Civil Servants SACCO joined other SACCOs under the Northern Region Chapter in Commemorating International Credit Unions Day.
To Commemorate the day, the Northern Region Chapter constructed and donated toilets worthy 5.9 million kwacha to Ekwendeni School of the visually impaired.
Speaking after officially handing over the toilets, guest of honor at the function Reverend Jailosi Kamisa of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia commended Northern Region SACCOs for the role they play in economically empowering people through savings and credits and providing social solutions to challenges the society is facing.

Teacher in-charge for Ekwendeni school of the visually impaired Chimwemwe Mvula could not thank the SACCOs enough saying the school has over 40 learners who were using one old dilapidated toilet.
The day was Commemorated under the theme: One World through Cooperative Finance.
The commemoration begun with a solidarity march from Ekwendeni trading centre to the venue.
